IFMAR (International Federation of Model Auto Racing) is the world governing body of professional radio contolled racing.
The organization was created in 1979 by professional racer Ted Longshaw. At that time, many different governing bodies operated under their own rules throughout the world. IFMAR was conceived as a way to bring the different, fragmented organizations under a single, governing body. Their uniform set of rules means everyone races under the same guidelines no matter where in the world they are from. IFMAR's constitution also promotes international friendship and sportsmanship.
Governing bodies[]
IFMAR governs R/C racing through four international governing bodies, or blocs representing 42 member nations. Each block has full voting rights within IFMAR. These are:

EFRA oversees racing in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
